I'm awesome.
Awe me.
I don't quite know what to say to that really... Jason only gave me the book because I like anime and drawing them is fun?
However, thankyou for your advice and I'll look into another book.

Close Your Eyes. Sometimes It Helps.
But considering the course we're on, and the fact that we'll be finishing uni in only about a year and a half, we all need to be a lot better. That's my main concern. I have actually given these links (and more) to others because they really helped me.
To be honest, I do have a bit of bias regarding anime. I like anime, I watch it a lot and have been since I was young. I used to attempt to draw it when I was a teenager, and it was awful. The reason is because I did not have the skills in the fundamental principles of art, Construction/Anatomy, Line of Action, Fluid Poses, Clear Silhouettes, Perspective, Appeal/style.
Of course, you can draw anime as much as you like, and I must sound like a condescending douche, but I wouldn't go to all this trouble for someone I don't know.

I can see your viewpoint, I know they hate Manga and I only draw them for fun, I'd never use them in my uni work. Sorry I didnt know you posted links until I looked on my page, I know you mean well though, so thanks.

Drawing for fun is fine, anyone can draw whatever they want. But when we leave here, drawing anime will very rarely get you anywhere. Solid fundamtental art skills will get you everywhere in all creative ventures, even if you end up in a job where it's just doing opening movie credits or the kind of stuff we just did for the 50 words project.
Again, it's all down to the longterm. I am all about the longterm. I've seen a number of my friends finish uni and end up working in pubs or supermarkets, completely unrelated to their course, with no real job in sight. I don't want that to happen to anyone.
With art we can at least make up a portfolio and work in multiple avenues. Drawing only anime will pigeonhole you and prove to future employers that you are not able to adapt to multiple styles.
Jean-Pierre Kellams said "...have a portfolio that shows varied influences and range"
This is what employers want in an artist, no matter what kind of artist you are.
So please, read the links ASAP, put down the anime and practice what the links teach. And I'm sorry that I am unable to be nicer about this. We'll be thrid years sooner than everyone thinks.
